How to give a Cat a pill

1. Pick up cat and cradle it in the crook of your left

arm as if holding a baby. Position right forefinger

and thumb on either side of cat's mouth and gently

apply pressure to cheeks while holding pill in right

hand. As cat opens mouth, pop pill into mouth.

Allow cat to close mouth and swallow.

2. Retrieve pill from floor and cat from behind sofa.

Cradle cat in left arm and repeat process.

3. Retrieve cat from bedroom, and throw soggy pill away.

4. Take new pill from foil wrap, cradle cat in left arm,

holding rear paws tightly with left hand. Force jaws

open and push pill to back of mouth with right forefinger.

Hold mouth shut for a count of ten.

5. Retrieve pill from goldfish bowl and cat from top of

wardrobe. Call spouse from garden.

6. Kneel on floor with cat wedged firmly between knees, hold front and rear paws. Ignore low growls emitted by cat.

Get spouse to hold head firmly with one hand while forcing wooden ruler into mouth. Drop pill down ruler and rub cat's throat vigorously.

7. Retrieve cat from curtain rail, get another pill

from foil wrap. Make note to buy new ruler and

repair curtains. Carefully sweep shattered

figurines and vases from hearth and set to one

side for gluing later.

8. Wrap cat in large towel and get spouse to lie

on cat with head just visible from below armpit.

Put pill in end of drinking straw, force mouth open

with pencil and blow down drinking straw.

9. Check label to make sure pill not harmful to

humans, drink 1 beer to take taste away. Apply

Band-Aid to spouse's forearm and remove blood

from carpet with cold water and soap.

10. Retrieve cat from neighbour's shed. Get another

pill. Open another beer. Place cat in cupboard,

and close door onto neck, to leave head showing.

Force mouth open with dessert spoon. Flick pill down throat with elastic band.

11. Fetch screwdriver from garage and put cupboard

door back on hinges. Drink beer. Fetch bottle of

scotch. Pour a shot, drink. Apply cold compress to

cheek, and check records for date of last tetanus shot.

Apply whisky compress to cheek to disinfect. Toss back another shot. Throw T-shirt away and fetch new one from bedroom.

12. Call fire department to retrieve the damn cat from

across the road. Apologize to neighbor who crashed

into fence while swerving to avoid cat. Take last pill

from foil wrap.

13. Tie the little sucker's front paws to rear paws with

garden twine and bind tightly to leg of dining table,

find heavy-duty pruning gloves from shed. Push pill into mouth followed by large piece of fillet steak. Be rough about it. Hold head vertically and pour 2 pints of water down throat to wash pill down.

14. Consume remainder of scotch. Get spouse to

drive you to the emergency room, sit quietly while

doctor stitches fingers and forearm and removes pill

remnants from right eye. Call furniture shop on way

home to order new table.

15. Arrange for RSPCA to collect mutant cat from hell and call local pet shop to see if they have any hamsters.

1. Wrap it in bacon.

2. Toss it in the air.

That's what I like about dogs!!!

We have have had a lot of help from other social networks now and our membership continues to grow. Thanks to all who have provided assistance including Facebook and Myspace.

The site has a lot more activity now and there are many more staff members providing online assistance and comments.

The new chat room has proved very popular and is very responsive. A great place to meet and talk dogs.

Our attempt at revenue generation has stalled a little whilst we work out how to collate live database information using MySql. The pages are there but we haven't been able to click through as yet. Coming soon though.

Thanks to Hilary and Rascal for their day to day help.

We had some business card like 'invitations to join' made up and we have been handing these out at various events. They are going down really well.

At the same time we had some car stickers made - the ones that go inside the back window. These have gone down a storm. Contact me if you want one. This what they look like.............

We are still surprised at the activity on such a new site but solid worldwide friendships are forming.

It's become a way of life for the whole family to sit down in the evening to begin wuffstuffing. Having said all that it is taking over our lives and we have got the dogs to look after as well as our normal work. Never mind.

A further week

I've met loads of nice people this week and there has been no negativity like we had from the American bloggers.

There has been loads of new members from Australia and they are particularly welcome. I have relatives and friends in Oz.

We'll keep going and trying to generate new members. The more members the more fun we can have.

It's going well

Following my personal dark moment with the bloggers in the US, things have improved and we are making loads of new friends. It never surprises me what great people own dogs. Maybe it's a natural human trait.

I had a go at that Squidoo thing this afternoon. I have absolutely no idea what it is or what it does but it didn't take very long. What happens with it I don't know. I'll have a visit from time to time to see what goes on. Everything is a learning process just now.

Sharapova's out - well I never! There's an English guy on now playing Tursonov - going with serve.

I need to apologise to 'Sophie Brador' who is of the opinion we are using some sort of marketing techniques to establish the website.

Please accept my apology.

This is not the case. Wuffstuff is not a commercial venture - it's just a bit of fun for dog owners.

We have no wish to pester, or to bother, anyone; we have a genuine love of dogs, all dogs.......but particularly Airedales and Borders.

There is nothing better than to read the blogs and see what other owners, and dogs, are doing.

Obviously we won't bother 'Sophie Brador' further.

I can't believe how nice dog owners are. Thanks for your supportive responses. It brought a little lump to my throat.

We love our dogs - Roxy and Izzy - and this was really a way of showing them off. Strangely, it might have been Katy (Cassidy and Harry) who put the thought in my head. She has a unique way with her Airedales and somehow she assisted the thought process. Thanks Katy.

So, wuffstuff was this thought turned into reality by my eldest son, who is a computer software developer. He does it in his spare time but he lives a hectic life; you know - pubs, clubs, nightlife, friends and a bit of work. It will take a while to sort it all out but comments and messages like yours really do make a difference.

From the bottom of my heart - THANKS.

It's taken quite a while to get this far. We have had the idea a long time.

A website purely for dog owners and dog lovers to have a bit of fun with each other worldwide.

Having gone live this week we are now on the way to cleaning up the code and changing the way things work. It may take a while longer before we finally finish.

Any help you can give us will be gratefully received. Even if it's just a visit and a complaint!

As a photographer it's the piccies that interest me the most but I think there's something for everyone.

This site is for the members and it is the mebers that will make it what it will be.
